Day 9 of the December challenge is upon us and the question has a lot of answer options. I’m excited to see what Madi at And So I Did chooses to write about!

This prompt is just so vague! I could write about my cell phone, my car, my laptop, my iPad. I could write about websites like Bloglovin and Twitter. I could even write about sticky notes

All those things are so boring. Of course I use my cell phone everyday. I’m going to write about my journal. This is my second journal since June. She’s full 8 1/2 by 11 pages and I am steadily trying to fill her up with my thoughts.

In all of my OCD glory, I have included color coded tabs so I know what is written where.

Blue-Blog
Yellow- WIP (NaNo Novel)
Purple- New story
Pink- Calendars

There is something so invigorating and creatively inspiring about writing by hand.

Along with my journal, I always have a ruler to divide the pages (more OCD), the only types of pens I will use (Tul and Sharpie), and my tabs. These travel in my purple pen bag with color coded sticky notes.

So, there’s my one item that I use everyday, but it is much more than something that I use every day. I love having a journal. It documents my time, and honestly, when other people talk about how quickly time is moving, I always think about how much I’ve written. I know that time is always marching forward, but I also have a way to look back and see how much has really happened, how much I’ve accomplished, and how much I have experienced. It’s my way to keep up with all the moments.

What is your one item?
